Short story/interview of Kray twins

I had the opportunity to help Scotland Yard during their crime research on two of England’s most ruthless gangsters.

Myself and my twin brother, Ronnie.

After both of us were arrested and declared guilty for our injustice, I’ve been asked to collaborate with detective Leonard Nipper to find the truth behind my brother’s personality, very often affected by mental disorders and strange behaviours.

Ronald “Ronnie” Kray was born in Hoxton, Middlesex, a few minutes after myself.

When I asked him where to start, he said that he couldn’t cope with the idea of being born second and most probably carried out the thought of being the weakest brother.

The influence of our grandfather Jimmy, helped us bond as brothers through amateur boxing, a popular pastime for working-class boys in the East End.

He told me how excited and invincible he felt alongside myself, both during the training and the matches.
Recalling the incredible series of unbeaten results until the age of 19, when our numerous criminal records ended our boxing career.

Everything started when we bought the snooker club in Bethnal Green, we ended up turning the place into the biggest protection rackets location.

If I recall correctly, I remember Ronnie interrupting the chat saying “how perfect and smooth this time was…” followed by a long pause.
I thought that was the right moment to find out what changed his loyal behaviour into the aggressive and impatience person he had become.

“Why did you shot Cornell that night?” I asked.

“We had plenty of men which could have done it for you Ronnie, why?” I asked again with a strong tone.

Elegantly and quietly, he said that Cornell guaranteed his own death sentence by insulting him.

“I’ve done the world a favour…” he said smiling while looking for his lighter to light up his cigarette.

“People think depression is a bad feeling Reggie”

“It is” I said.

“It is not, Reggie. It is a gift” he added.

After Cornell’s death I couldn’t trust him anymore for obvious reasons, but he was still my beloved brother.
Our criminal organisation grew rapidly and we got our hands throughout all of London during the 50s and 60s, involving public figures and politicians.

Ronnie remained in Broadmmor hospital for long time, looking to rehabilitate.
The environment didn’t suit his dress-code and the way he was looking after his hands didn’t suggest any criminal offence.

But that was only the impression.

When I finally asked how he was doing, he said: “I don’t allow myself to live in the past but I know that we’ll live forever”

I asked what he means by that.

He stood up and he pointed out of the window. With a heroic posture, looking out at the landscape of London, he added: “Yeah, I do regret some things. And I know I frightened quite a lot people.”

I nod and add: “Would you do the same again alongside me Ronnie?”

Without looking back at me while helping himself to some water and a couple of anti-depression pills, he said we couldn’t do better.

“Will you come back again Reggie?” He asked.

“Certainly” I said.

Detective Nipper was delighted by my work but at the end of the day, I was still a criminal.

Both of us were sentenced to life imprisonment.

Latina 1 – Ternana 2

12191629_1018673398154150_1174553863201944679_n

Film review – Inception

Film Review INCEPTION

Genre : Fantasy, Psychological, Sci-Fi

Directed and written by : Christopher Nolan

In Dvd : since December 2010

10 years after the release of the astonishing movie “Memento”, the young British writer and director Christopher Nolan, delights us with this smart psychological sci-fi : Inception.
The dreams within dreams.

The seven time winner award producer, enhances not only the power of our mind when unconscious but he brings to us the beauty of architecture and the mystery of more complex thoughts.

Interpreted by Leonardo Di Caprio and supported by an excellent cast, worth itself the ticket’s price.

Di Caprio plays Cobb, an international modern thief which practices the extraction of ideas by putting himself to sleep, enters another person’s dream and steals the idea after digging deeply into its subconscious.

For his final job, Cobb will not simply steal thoughts from someone’s mind but he will be asked to implant a never existed belief into somebody’s head. To do so, he assembles a stealthy crew which will help to finalise the final state : the dream within a dream within a dream.

Ariadne (Ellen Page) will be the dream architect, Eames (Tom Hardy) will forge the true nature of characters, Yusuf (Dileep Rao) will provide the heavy-sedatives and Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) will ensure the kick will be given at right time.

The mission will not run smoothly because of Cobb’s Achilles heel, Marge (Marion Cotillard).

The complexity of travelling among minds added to the uncertainty of your perception of reality requires its audience to remain on the edge of their seats throughout the entire movie.

It will be hard sometimes to understand whether you’re in a dream or reality.

2H30min of your precious time that will leave you pondering for days, even weeks after you have left the cinema. Good acting, great writing and great directing, make this movie one of a kind.

Juventus 1-3 Barcelona [Champions League Final]

images

Match eagerly awaited, which has shown what everyone were waiting for : great football.

Expectations were high and the result seemed a foregone conclusion in favour of Barcelona. Impressive and colourful choreographies has accompanied the entry of players into the field.

To underline the presence of two magnificent lords of football soon to retire – Xavi and Pirlo – to fight for the Champions League final for the last time against each other.hqdefault

Both teams had chance to win the treble this season but Barcelona came out as winner, breaking a new record, being the only European team to win the National cup, La Liga and CL twice. In the other hand, Bianconeri has broken also a new – negative – record, being the only European club to lose the CL final for the 6th time.

Rakitic with an early goal, Suarez and Neymar with a terrific counter attack, signed the end of Juventus European’s journey in a cruel and implacable way. Morata level up the match at the beginning of second half giving hope and new lifeblood to his team-mates.Barcelona-Juventus-Rakitic-goal

Juventus played very well overall, showing great character and attributes to fight Barcelona’s stellar squad.

Allegri presented a defence of 4 due Chiellini’s forfeit, lining up Bonucci and Barzagli in front of Buffon, with Evra and Lichsteiner as back wings. Pirlo playing behind Marchisio, Pogba and Vidal. Tevez supported “El Canterano” Morata.

Blaugrana with full organic. Luis Enrique respond to his opponent with his 4-3-3. Ter-Stegen as goalkeeper, Pique and Javier Mascherano as central defenders, and Dani Alves and Jordi Alba as his right and left backs. Rakitic, Busquets and Iniesta to complete his midfield. Stellar attacker Messi, Neymar and Suarez to accomplish the dream.

Bianconeri seemed to understand the most efficient tactic to confuse Blaugrana by pressuring defenders. It appeared to be successful before Rakitic scored an early close range – after a magnificent combination from Jordi Alba-Iniesta – resizing the Old Lady’s plans.

Buffon demonstrated to be the top-goalie in Europe one more time, by spectacularly saving an header from Dani Alves sticking a hand out while he dove oppositely.

Vidal got a deserved yellow card after 4 aggressive tackles in a space of 15 minutes, risking to let his team down.

Despite the disadvantage, Juventus tried to take control of the game, but the final step of their counterattacks was really poor.

Barcelona seemed to save energy and let the Old Lady play safely till the midfield without pressure. Thanks to the overwhelming technique and sudden accelerations they startled the defence in few occasions, included the last one before the break with Suarez shaving the post with a low-angled strike.

Second half started better for Barca, with another counter-attack wasted from Suarez, whom ha seen his shot, diverted away for a corner.

When everyone where waiting for Barcelona to double up their lead, “El Canterano” Alvaro Morata levelled up the scoreline.

A clever back-heel from Marchisio to free Lichsteiner, whom quickly delivered a cross for Tevez which had seen his shot saved by Ter-Stegen right where Morata was ready to transform the rebounce in goal.bcf32bd589054829841455e3700ad625-2587700054fc4da4a6ebebd1373b9b2a-2

With teams in perfect equality, Juventus began to push, showing a vigorous effort in order to achieve the second goal. Pogba and Tevez gave headaches to L.Enrique’s men, especially when the Argentinian found himself free to strike from the edge of the box, but his shot was a way over the bar.

To mention a disallowed goal for Blaugrana – Neymar’s handball – and a dangerous long-range shot, done from Marchisio and saved away for a corner.

When Evra left the field due an injury, Allegri decided to play all-for-all, substituting the French wing with the attacker wing Coman, leaving only three men at the back, exposing the Bianconeri too much. Punctually, at the end of regular playing time, Neymar gifts himself with the joy of the goal, ending the game at 3 to 1.

It has been a football match between a team – Juventus – and a stellar team. It was also clear enough that Biaconeri are missing key players to reach European levels and compete with those monsters.Iniesta-Marchisio-barca-Juve-610x371

Juventus must be proud despite of CL final defeat. A small criticism for Allegri, for not having made the appropriate changes when the second half began – Pirlo and Pogba were a disappointment – The French talent seemed a bit out of condition and “The  Maestro” is facing the hard reality of not being able to play at that speed anymore. Sturaro and Pereyra would have done a job a little more dirty but perhaps more effective to stop the Spanish accelerations. Excellent performance for Marchisio, who ran incessantly box-to-box showing great skills, personally Man of the Match alongside Iniesta.

Lazio 1-2 Roma [After match]

It had to be a contended derby and so it was. Even though there were doubts and rumours about an alleged combine to draw, both teams have shown otherwise.

11009119_923717794367553_8511885706059044477_n

Lazio had its faith in their hands – after Napoli’s defeat at Juventus’ stadium last Saturday – a victory would have secured a direct place into the Champions League group phase.

A draw or victory for Roma would have assigned a certain second place in Serie A, a desirable spot due the large income from Champions League’s qualification.

Spectacular staging in Curva Nord, where a gigantic eagle covered the entire Biancocelesti’ sector.

Curva Sud without choreography due an ongoing protest against the Roma’s chairman, guilty of having insulted club’s fans.

coreografiaroma

“Oggi nessuna coreografia per la nostra dignità, un vero presidente non insulta la sua gente”

Defensive approach for Roma, while Lazio takes control of the game from the beginning. Worthy to note, only an incredibly chance missed by Klose – whom send wide of the right post a dangerous header – and four yellow cards shown from Rizzoli. Overall Lazio played better with a majority of ball possession, while Roma focused too much to defence, leaving Totti too alone to be able to hurt Lazio’s defenders.

Second half starts slightly better, with Basta that missed the left post from a mid-range rebound.

Lulic risks a red card with a rough challenge but Rizzoli concedes only a free kick for Roma.

To be highlighted the performance of Florenzi and Iturbe, both sensational on their respective wings especially in covering phase.

Roma seemed to find a better and quality football after Totti’s substitution. Subs Ibarbo and Pjanic brought on the field speed and technique. After two goal-scoring opportunity, Ibarbo finds Iturbe which finds the net with a close range. It’s 0:1. 11220873_1629763330600882_8944684907606438585_n

Pioli respond to Garcia with Djordjevic instead of Mauri, which finds the equalizer, few minutes later. Klose finds the Serbian with headed pass after a great lob into the box from Anderson. LAPR0974--473x264

When the match seems to establish its end, Yanga Mbiwa manages to transform in goal, a good free kick from Pjanic, cracking a perfect header. It’s 1:2 images

Neither of the teams dominated the match but the last 20 minutes were worthy the ticket price.

Roma can now celebrate this victory and the certain 2nd spot over city-rivals, which are now forced to avoid defeat at Napoli in order to maintain the 3rd position and gain the last Europe’s top club competition spot.

Latina 1-1 Modena [After match]

Latina finally achieved the yearn and deserved target, against Modena it’s 1 – 1 and the next year will play again in Serie B. A useful but plain and unattractive draw, consent Latina to reach 50 points, enough to get itself away from play-out battle. 11009211_916916548329836_265644226054390885_n

It was clear since the beginning, that Latina wanted to play defensively, waiting the away team within its midfield and hitting by counterattacks. Certainly this tactic did not work because Latina suffered a lot, especially the first 20 minutes, when Modena tried with no luck 2 far shots and eventually scored with Granoche, after a confuse and lucky action inside the box.

image

After the nth save from Di Gennaro on Garritano, the ball knocked into Alhassan which unluckily put out of cause Brosco serving a perfect assist for Granoche, whom easily get in.

Latina’s reaction arrives 10 minutes later, when the referee assign a penalty for a doubtful handball. Viviani takes the responsibility, scoring and showing once again his leadership and truthful attachment to this colours celebrating under the Curva Nord. 11329844_916916158329875_11085433197967160_n

Nothing more happened till the end of first 45 minutes. Second half starts with the same XI’s and the same unexciting rhythm of game. Long balls and midfield’s battles were the only actions worthy of note. Substitutions were meaningless regarding the final result. Crimi gives the last gasp but Pinsoglio outdoes himself by saving in corner.

Relaxed, festive atmosphere and happy faces all around the stadium after the triple whistle, managers and fans included, which can finally feel relieved from this troubled season. Four-Five months ago this epilogue seemed a pure unattainable hope. Recalling Latina’s position at the end of December 2014, – when Nerazzurri were last – I can safely call Iuliano’s achievement, a sportive miracle.

11203150_908240962530728_3451479679793737342_nModena sank into play-out zone, disappointing its supporters, upset by the outcome of this season and also, for the unknown and unsafe club’s situation.

Now the squad can enjoy and relax a little bit, after this terrible season, but they must start immediately with new determination, building a corporate and football bases which can offer a serious project delivering a more peaceful future.

Latina – Modena [Preview]

curva-latina-calcio-serie-B-600x240

The permanence in Serie B of Latina is distant only one point and the last ninety minutes of the year against Modena will sanction the end of the regular season. The struggle to not get relegated involves a total of eight teams; Latina has 2 out of 3 results to gain the access to play Serie B for the 3rd year in a row, while for “Canarini” there is no choice but to hit the victory and expect good news from other fields.

Coach Iuliano will have to do without many players: Dellafiore, Paolucci, Olivera and lastly Talamo out due injuries, whereas Ammari and Valiani due suspension. Mark will have to invent the midfield in addition to the usual problem of lack of goals. Viviani is recovered and should be part of the game.

LATINA – In front of Di Gennaro should play Brosco and Bruscagin with Ristovski and Alhassan on the wings. Crimi and Viviani will play as central midfielders. On the frontline, we should see the trident formed by Jaadi, Bidaoui and Oduamadi behind the only striker, Litteri or Doudou.

The squad has spent the last few days gathered together at Park Hotel, situated few minutes away from the stadium, to find that piece of mind away from media and anything that would cause distraction. At the same time though, Iuliano wanted to make them feel at home, surrounded by the warmth of the city and its fans.

Nerazzurri must nullify the colourless performance of Chiavari. The collective, the hunger, the desire of victory, will make a difference. Determination and a goal more than the other, this is what every single Latina’s supporter will expect tomorrow.

As always, the fans will not fail to supply affection and warmth towards the team. Tomorrow, like never, their presence will be essential to contribute to the victory. The team must give the most out of what remains of its energy, helped by a fiery Francioni, which will be very close to the team from the first to the last moment.

After a troubled season, full of ups and downs, we have to reset what has happened so far and think about tomorrow as if it were a final.

To obtain your own destiny, you must be able to fight for it.
